Laziza Lahori Chargha 90g
Lahori chargha is cooked in a way nothing else in this range is: a whole chicken is marinated, steamed until tender, then deep-fried until golden and crisp, a Lahore street food specialty distinct from the grilled tandoori, tikka boti or malai boti dishes. Laziza's Lahori Chargha Masala blends red chilli, coriander, roasted cumin, turmeric, cardamom, clove, fenugreek leaves, garlic, ginger and mace into the marinade that gives chargha its tangy, well-spiced flavour.
How to use it
Make deep cuts into a whole skinless chicken's breast and legs, mix the masala with ginger paste and lemon juice, and rub it evenly into the chicken, including the cuts. Marinate for at least a few hours, ideally overnight. Steam the chicken over a pot of simmering water until fully tender, then deep-fry in hot oil until golden and crisp on all sides. Finish with a sprinkle of chaat masala and a squeeze of lemon, the traditional way it's served.
