Shan Chicken Tikka 50g

Shan's Chicken Tikka mix is a different formulation from their Tikka BBQ Steak Blend, built specifically for chicken rather than beef or lamb. It blends red chilli, turmeric, aniseed, cinnamon, cumin, brown cardamom, black pepper, mace, nutmeg, star aniseed, ginger and garlic, with papain (a natural tenderiser derived from papaya) and a touch of food colouring for the familiar tikka colour.

How to use it

Mix the masala with lemon juice and oil, no water needed, unlike the BBQ Steak Blend and apply it to chicken pieces with a few slits cut into each. Marinate for at least 3 hours, then thread onto skewers and grill on low heat over charcoal or gas until tender. Serve with green salad, sliced onion, tomatoes and Shan's tamarind, BBQ or green chutney.
